We wish you all the luck in the World Terry!

Well the time had come to finally meet Terry and to place a face with a name;  a name and a cause that had kept us focused for almost 5 months. Our meeting came after only minutes of having arrived at the Canine Assistants facility in Milton, GA. Terry, along with her new service dog “Butterball” greeted us with open arms, a beautiful smile, and a spirit that seemed to envelope her and all those around her. We were all touched by the thanks and praise we received from Terry and the wonderful folks at Canine Assistants. It was a moving experience for the Dublin Dog Foundation team to see the fruits of our labor transform from good intentions into a reality that will forever change the life of Terry and her family. So we sincerely thank everybody who helped us in this quest to assist a very deserving woman receive a service dog after having waited for 4.5 years. The pleasure was all ours and we look forward to the opportunity of helping serve those who need our support. And to Terry and her family, we truly wish you and Butterball all the luck in the world. We are grateful for having had the opportunity to meet you and to help write a few sentences in the chapters of your life.Terry and ButterballDDF Presents the check

I just wanted to thank everybody who came out to our Shamrock and Rollover Event this past weekend at Connollys. With a few hundred of our favorite friends, family, and the lucky strangers we lured in off the street with our cold Guinness and delicious grub, we raised over $5,000 in just 3 hours!!! The Board of the Dublin Dog Foundation not only can put together wonderful charities, but they can sure throw a party as well. We had 5 therapy and service dogs join the celebration, a wonderful DJ rippin’ the records, and of course, the Bike of the hour. That’s right, folks lined up to get a chance to win the Dublin Dog Foundation Dream Bike and Sidecar. With only 30 days left until we start our pilgrimage to Washington DC, we’re laser focused on hitting our goal of $20,000. So thank you again for a wonderful event and be sure to stay in touch for all additional events that will be taking place during the month of June. Special thanks again to all the great folks at Connolly’s and Bojangles! We could not have done it without you.

Ok all you lads and lassies, it’s time to do your part, and knock back a pint for a good cause! That’s right, the Dublin Dog Foundation has teamed up with Connollys Irish Pub here in Charlotte to have a blowout benefit to help support our very worth cause of providing “Terry”, our current candidate with a service dog. The party will be on May 30th, from 5:00-8:00pm (and then some). A simple $20 donation will get you free beer and food from Shane’s Rib Shack for the evening! And all the money raised will go to help provide Terry, who suffers from Cerebral Palsy a service dog. Never will it feel so good to toast a pint than to know you’re doing it for a great cause. So call all your friends, neighbors, cousins, and co-workers. This is going to be one party that you won’t want to miss!!!

Ok gang, we are almost at the halfway mark of our goal of raising $20,000 for our candidate with Cerebral Palsy to receive a service dog. We are absolutely thrilled with the feedback we’ve received on the Dublin Dog Foundation Dream Bike. It’s a real spectacle, so be sure to check out the entire fabrication in the photo section of the website. However, we can’t stop now, we need ALL YOUR SUPPORT. We have the ability to change a woman’s life by helping her gain some of her independence back this 4th of July, but we can’t do it alone. So make a donation and receive the opportunity to win this one of a kind bike, while at the same time, playing a vital role in helping someone in need!!!

Well after two years of thinking about it, the Dublin Dog Foundation Dream Bike Giveaway is ready to roll. We are thrilled with the work of Expectations Body Shop in SC, who dedicated days of painstaking paint and detail work. But if you ask me, it was all worth it. Take a look at this baby. It has over 6 coats of specialty paint, along with three artists contributing their skills. The main painter, Doug Johnson, along with his airbrush specialist and old school pin stripper. Most importantly, it’s ready to help make a dream a reality for one special needs individual! So enter today for a chance to win this bike over the 4th of July weekend and help to give a very deserving person their independence back.

Dream Bike gets a makeover

The Dream Bike is officially at paint. That’s right, on Friday afternoon I drove to a secret location in South Carolina to meet our new painter, Doug. One look at that bike and Doug was, “that’s one crazy lookin’ bike, this is gonna be fun!” That’s an understatement Doug. This bike is really coming together. A special thanks to the guys at Bicycle Sport, especially Mike who has gone the extra mile on helping us getting the parts necessary so we can actually pedal the thing. Also, we wouldn’t be here without our fabricator Brock, so a special kudos to him as well. So hang on tight folks, the bike will be debuted this week we hope. Here’s a photo from last Thursday night without the full assembly. Check out that leather seat in the sidecar!

Any guess on the paint job? What’s it going to look like? Check back soon to find out!

Two Platinum Sponsors have been identified for the 2009 Dream Bike Giveaway. Hip, Hip, Hoorey. While I am not ready to release their names, I can say that they are making a world of difference, not only to their community, but to “Terry”, the hopeful recipient of a service dog from Canine Assistants. So please, don’t rely on luck alone, please take a moment and make a donation to the Dublin Dog Foundation. This is your chance to dramatically affect someone’s life for the better. Once the ink dries, we’ll announce the names of our first two platinum sponsors. Way to go…

This is a great video that helps to explain all the various facets and benefits behind service and therapy assistance dogs. It shows a wide range of organizations, as well as a little feature on Canine Assistants, one of the groups that we are teaming up with for the sponsorship of a service dog for a special needs individual here in North Carolina. We are thrilled to spearhead this effort and we look to you, our supporters and friends to help us with our goal of raising $20,000. This will go to pay for the training, graduation, and life of the dog, including all food and medical bills associated with the dog. Be sure to check back often to learn more about the Dublin Dog Dream Bike Giveaway! You may be the lucky winner!

Thanks for stopping by. We’ll be up and running shortly!
